Beginning today (August 2) at 4:00 p.m., Malvern’s water tower is being taken offline (drained) for annual inspection and cleaning. Pumps on the City’s wells will ensure that pressure is maintained throughout the system but citizens are asked to begin conserving water. Please avoid watering lawns or using excessive amounts of water starting at 4:00 p.m. today. Some households may experience a slight decrease in water pressure. This process should only take a day or two but if any mechanical issues are identified, the tower may be offline for a longer period of time. Additional updates will be posted as more information becomes available. If you have questions regarding this process, please contact City Hall at (712) 624-8282.
Beginning on April 17, 2023, Mike Opal with Midwest Assistance Program (MAP) will be GIS mapping all water and sanitary sewer infrastructure, including curb stops, in Malvern. More information can be found here. This mapping will take several weeks to complete using surveying equipment. Representatives from MAP will be wearing HiVis safety vests or brightly colored shirts and can present identification upon request. Images of MAP employees can be found here.
Mapping services are being provided at no cost to the City and will allow us to more accurately manage the community’s infrastructure.
